Dr. Steve Yoon grew up in Mclean, Virginia and attended Johns Hopkins University for his undergraduate studies, receiving his bachelor’s degree with honors in economics and biology. He then went to the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia. He completed his residency program in ophthalmology at Tufts University Medical Center – New England Eye Center in Boston, Massachusetts and was distinguished as chief resident in his final year. Following this, he completed a two-year fellowship in oculofacial, plastic and orbital surgery at UC Irvine Medical Center – Gavin Herbert Eye Institute in Orange County, California.
Dr. Yoon is a specialist in oculoplastic surgery, focused on plastic surgery relating to the eyes and its surrounding structures. He performs a variety of surgical and non-surgical procedures related to the eyelids (droopy upper eyelids, puffy lower eyelids), the tear drainage system, the mid-face, and facial rejuvenation (including Botox, Juvederm, Restylane, Latisse).
Dr. Yoon is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a board-certified ophthalmologist. He is the author of many research publications in peer-reviewed journals and textbook chapters.
